What kind of food is served in Sonya’s Garden Restaurant?

Sonya offers a timeless organic menu that includes greens handpicked from her garden and freshly baked bread from her Panaderia. Pasta is also served with three choices of sauce; sundried tomatoes, chicken cream with mangoes and ratatouille.  Guests can opt to have additional entrees included in the fixed menu, like Rosemary Chicken and Salmon with capers. A gourmet Filipino menu is also available upon special request (see the menus page).

Where can I buy Sonya’s Secret Salad Dressing?

Sonya has a Country Store that allows guests to purchase some of the offerings at Sonya’s menu to take home, including the Secret Salad Dressing, sundried tomato sauce and chicken cream with manges, and the bread dips. Freshly-baked bread and pastries are also available at the Panaderia next door.

Is Sonya’s Garden open for breakfast?

Yes, even guests who are not checked-in at the Bed and Breakfast cottages can also avail of Sonya’s special home cooked breakfast feast, which is a mixture of Filipino and French-inspired dishes among other offerings. The kitchen opens as early as 8 o’clock in the morning.

What is a Bed and Breakfast?

While some would argue that the term Bed and Breakfast had its origins in Europe and spread in popularity in the new world settlements, the concept and values that form its foundation are universal. The concept of “panunuluyan,” roughly translated as “shelter for the night,” has both ethnic and religious origins in Philippine culture and is also an important part of the celebrations during the Christmas season. Hospitality, a unique personal touch that emphasizes on a closer relationship between the host and the guest plus the ambience that only the locality can provide, are the very ingredients that define the character of a bed and breakfast facility. B&Bs, as they are popularly called, are generally small establishments with individually decorated rooms that exude a homey feeling. As part of the rustic experience, rooms may not include some modern facilities like televisions or telephones.

What is the origin of Sonya's Bed and Breakfast?

Following the popularity and success of her Secret Garden, friends of Sonya prodded her to establish a facility were guests of the restaurant can stay overnight or longer to have the complete experience of a unique kind of country style living. Sonya had built first one then another two and now a total of 12 cottages, all named after herbs that reflect the influences of her travels here and abroad. Each cottage has a unique personality that is part European and part Asian but definitely all Sonya.

What are your rates?

Rates for a one night stay at the Bed and Breakfast are PhP 3,400 per person on weekends and PhP 3,000 per person on weekdays. This includes a sumptuous breakfast and a complimentary lunch or dinner with serenade. Credit cards are accepted.

Are kids charged full?

Children 7 and below are entitled to a 50% discount.

What is included in the rate?

Guests of the B&B are treated to a sumptuous breakfast and a hearty country lunch or dinner with Kundiman serenade. Guests may also participate in Sonya’s art-of-doing-nothing activities such as cooking lessons with herbs, yoga for beginners, wreath making, compost making and flower arrangement lessons, at no extra charge. You may schedule these activities upon reservation.

What kind of food do we expect at the Bed and Breakfast?

Unlike the restaurant, which has a fixed menu, the B&B has a flexible fare that changes from season to season. Guest who may have special requirements may make arrangements at the time they make their reservation and with due advance notice.

When is the best time to stay at the Bed and Breakfast?

Sonya welcomes guests all-year round but the months of September – February is usually the busiest time for the B&B, when the cool Tagaytay weather is best enjoyed. Of course, this also means that the weekend crowd is larger than usual and reservations tend to be scarce unless scheduled in advance. Weekdays are actually the perfect time to stay at the B&B, when guests can enjoy a quieter time and the unique serenity found only at Sonya’s Garden is most prominently felt.

How do we make a reservation?

You may call +63-9175329097 or +63-9175335140 to make reservations and also to request for other arrangements that will make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

You may read the cancellation policy here.

How many can fit in a cottage?

Sonya's Bed and Breakfast has 10 cottages with different room configurations that can comfortably accommodate anywhere from a minimum of 2 to 6 guests. Special arrangements can be made to accommodate up to 13 people in the biggest cottage, which is Lavender. Special arrangements can also be made for big groups such as corporate planning sessions, wedding showers, reunions, etc.

What time can I check-in/ checkout?

Guests can check-in between 2pm and 7pm and checkout at 12nn. If, however, you have special requirements we would suggest that you mention this at the time you make your reservation. Sonya’s allows some flexibility with check-in/checkout so long as it does not conflict with its commitments to other guests.

What about pets?

Pets are allowed as long as they remain securely under their owner's custody. We would like to remind guests that Sonya's is a farm and that there are free-range farm animals that abound in the area and that Sonya's cannot be responsible for any pet brought in to the premises.

Is smoking allowed?

Smoking in all indoor facilities is not allowed.

Do you have day rates for people not staying overnight?

The Bed and Breakfast cottages are reserved for checked-in guests staying overnight. Should you want to stay longer in the garden after having lunch or dinner, we suggest you head on over to the SPA and treat yourself to a relaxing massage or body scrub.

Are there spa facilities?

Sonya used to have a small massage salon that she has now expanded into a fulltime spa facility where guests are treated to a full pampering experience. At Sonya’s, SPA stands for Secret Pleasures. While guests of the B&B may also request for these services to be provided at their respective cottages, it is recommended that they visit the SPA for a complete rejuvenation of the mind and body.

Can I have my wedding at your garden?

Yes. Not only is Sonya’s a popular honeymoon destination, it has become a coveted wedding venue over the years. There are three main venues in the garden where the ceremony and reception may be held. One of which is the Herb Greenhouse, a sprawling flower nursery festooned with mirrors and colored chandeliers.

Can I have my prenup pictorials in your garden?

Yes you may if you are a checked-in guest at the Bed and Breakfast or are holding your wedding at the garden. Please limit outsiders (ALL non-checked in guests) to a maximum of three people.
